WHAT IS THE TRIMIT PRODUCT IN A NUTSHELL?

The product consists of two primary parts: the part fully embedded into Business Central, and our e-commerce suite of products used for B2B, B2C, Sales Agents and Suppliers, all fully integrated into TRIMIT and Business Central.

    Yes. TRIMIT is an app(lication) compatible with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

    That means that if you have Business Central running, you can find, install and use TRIMIT directly from Microsoft AppSource.

    In this context, the term ‘app’ refers to the hundreds of applications that fits directly onto Business Central.

    Like other apps on AppSource, TRIMIT meets the highest standards for development, quality assurance, testing, documentation etc. from Microsoft.

    And by the way, Business Central and TRIMIT is also an app for your tablet or phone and runs on any platform as it is browser based.

      WHICH TECHNOLOGY IS TRIMIT BASED ON?

      As illustrated higher up on this page, there are different technologies that serve as the foundation for TRIMIT.

        WHAT IS NAVISION, DYNAMICS NAV AND BUSINESS CENTRAL?

        All names refer to the same product, only in different generations. The ‘Navision’ name was replaced with Microsoft Dynamics NAV when Microsoft acquired the product in 2002 and has then later been renamed Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

          WHAT DO YOU GET WITH TRIMIT THAT BUSINESS CENTRAL DOES NOT OFFER?

          The short answer is A LOT!

          The slightly longer answers is that Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central has significant shortcomings as far as variant management is concerned.

          TRIMIT not only closes those gaps but also add hundreds of other big and small features that makes it an incredibly compelling app for our customers and ensures that every part of the supply chain is covered and that people are connected to the right information at the right time.

            DOES TRIMIT FIT TO BOTH A BEST-OF-BREED AND ALL-IN-ONE STRATEGY?

            Yes.

            Where the trend for the past years have been looking for an all-in-one solution from one vendor, the tendency now is to add different apps from different vendors to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central which is both technically possible now and provides additional freedom to choose the apps you prefer.

            TRIMIT is feature-rich enough to be used as an all-in-one solution but fits equally well as an element in your business solutions ecosystem with many different apps.
            We will happily guide you further and make our best recommendations about this topic.

              SHOULD YOU GO FOR ON-PREMISE, HOSTED OR CLOUD DEPLOYMENT?

              There are different ways to deploy TRIMIT and Dynamics 365 Business Central, and where you want the application installed is a choice you make.

              • An on-premise installation means that the solution will run locally on your own servers. The benefit here is that you are in full control of your own hardware and software. On the other hand, you own the full responsibility for both, and upgrades to hardware and software can become unnecessarily costly. Also, you are not able to take advantage of automatic updates to an on-premise installation, and this is instead done manually at your convenience. Although there are exceptions, we generally do not recommend an on-premise installation.

              • A hosted installation means that you rely on your preferred hosting provider to manage your IT infrastructure. You no longer have the responsibility for the hardware, but typically you still need to make the decisions regarding the software running in your hosting setup. For a business solution this means that you would typically still decide w hen to upgrade and do other changes to the software, leaving you with some responsibility for the applications. Where cloud deployment is not an option, we generally recommend a hosted solution.

              • In our opinion, a cloud-based solution is the right choice for future proofing your business solution. With this option, the solution runs in a secure Microsoft datacenter, and Microsoft takes responsibility of both hardware and software to ensure smooth performance, full security for your data and 24/7/365 access to you data with no down-time. The cloud option also gives you monthly updates on both Business Central and TRIMIT. We recommend this as the best option for all companies.

              DOES TRIMIT INTERACT WITH OTHER MICROSOFT PRODUCTS?

              Yes.
              Since TRIMIT is based on a Microsoft product, it seamlessly connects to other Microsoft products, like Office365 and the PowerApps suite, like PowerBI.
              This means that you can expect closer and closer interaction with apps such as Excel, Word, Teams and other Microsoft products that you probably already use.

                WHAT IS THE POSITION OF BUSINESS CENTRAL vs. OTHER MICROSOFT ERP PRODUCTS?

                Microsoft operates a number of ERP products, where Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC) is one.

                The others are Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management (FSCM) and Dynamics GP. Today, GP gets the least attention.
                FSCM is positioned towards large, complex organizations who typically have the appetite, manpower and budget for a time consuming and expensive ERP project.

                Admitted, there are customers with business requirements which call for FSCM which is then a great choice.

                BC is generally perceived as more suitable to SMBs (small and midsized businesses), and it comes at a significantly lower project price tag. It provides an extremely solid foundation for apps such as TRIMIT which enriches the basic product and tailors it to specific industries.
                BC is certainly a safe choice if you’re an SMB looking for a great ERP-framework to grow in.

                  WILL TRIMIT AND BUSINESS CENTRAL SCALE WITH YOUR GROWTH?

                  Yes.
                  One of the top reasons our customers choose TRIMIT is to be able to grow, and we have several examples among our customers of how TRIMIT and Business Central scale very well with even explosive growth.

                  The TRIMIT customer base is made up of customers with 2-3 users and all the way up to 250+ users.

                  TRIMIT and Business Central as products are optimized for great performance, and both run in Microsoft cloud data centers where performance is constantly monitored and improved.

                    ARE OTHER APPS FOR BUSINESS CENTRAL COMPATIBLE WITH TRIMIT?

                    Microsoft sets clear guidelines to ensure inter-compatibility between apps, and TRIMIT follows them 100%.

                      AS A TRIMIT CUSTOMER, ARE YOU FORCED TO WORK WITH A TRIMIT PARTNER?

                      No.
                      TRIMIT is an app like any other app available for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.

                      Obviously, we think it’s the greatest app out there, but at the end of the day there are no technical differences between TRIMIT and any of the other apps on Microsoft AppSource.

                      We do highly recommend that you work with one of our carefully selected and appropriately trained partners to get TRIMIT up and running, but any partner with Business Central skills can support your TRIMIT solution after it has been implemented.
